A Pilot is responsible for operating aircraft safely and efficiently, ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and cargo during flights. This role requires adherence to aviation regulations, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations.
Job Purpose:
The Pilot is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aircraft, transporting passengers and/or cargo while adhering to all aviation regulations and company policies. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, situational awareness, and professionalism.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate aircraft in accordance with established procedures and safety regulations.
Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure the aircraft is airworthy.
Review flight plans, weather conditions, and other relevant information prior to departure.
Communicate effectively with air traffic control and ground personnel.
Monitor aircraft systems and performance during flight, making adjustments as necessary.
Respond to and manage in-flight emergencies or unexpected situations.
Complete post-flight inspections and documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation regulations and company procedures.
Participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
Required Qualifications:
Valid commercial pilot’s license (CPL) or airline transport pilot license (ATPL), as applicable.
Current and valid medical certificate as required by aviation authorities.
Minimum required flight hours as specified by the employer or regulatory body.
Strong understanding of aviation safety and regulations.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience flying specific aircraft types used by the employer.
Additional certifications such as instrument rating or multi-engine rating.
Previous experience in commercial or cargo aviation.
Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aeronautical science, or a related field.
Proficiency in multiple languages.
