Job Purpose: The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality flight and ground instruction to student pilots, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain pilot certifications and operate aircraft safely.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct flight training sessions in accordance with FAA regulations and school policies.
Provide ground instruction covering aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and aviation regulations.
Prepare lesson plans and training materials tailored to individual student needs.
Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate training records.
Ensure all training flights are conducted with the highest regard for safety and professionalism.
Stay current with changes in aviation regulations and instructional techniques.
Perform pre-flight and post-flight briefings with students.
Participate in safety meetings and ongoing instructor development programs.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate.
Current FAA medical certificate.
Minimum required flight hours as specified by regulatory authorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional instructor ratings (CFII, MEI).
Experience instructing in multiple aircraft types.
Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field.
Previous experience as a flight instructor at a flight school or collegiate program.
Familiarity with advanced training technologies and simulators.
