Flight instructor

Job Purpose: The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality flight and ground instruction to student pilots, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain pilot certifications and operate aircraft safely.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct flight training sessions in accordance with FAA regulations and school policies.

• Provide ground instruction covering aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and aviation regulations.

• Prepare lesson plans and training materials tailored to individual student needs.

• Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate training records.

• Ensure all training flights are conducted with the highest regard for safety and professionalism.

• Stay current with changes in aviation regulations and instructional techniques.

• Perform pre-flight and post-flight briefings with students.

• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing instructor development programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate.

• Current FAA medical certificate.

• Minimum required flight hours as specified by regulatory authorities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional instructor ratings (CFII, MEI).

• Experience instructing in multiple aircraft types.

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field.

• Previous experience as a flight instructor at a flight school or collegiate program.

• Familiarity with advanced training technologies and simulators.
